Andrew Ward, ‘Sand Beds – How To Grow Tricky Alpines Outside Easily’
The lecture will be given by Andrew Ward of Norwell Nurseries (https://www.norwellnurseries.co.uk/). It will cover how to create a sand bed and the plants that will thrive, including Gentians, Lithodora, Daphnes, Saxifrages, Anchusa, Narcissus and Tulips. The event begins at 12 noon with a lecture from Conall O’Caoimh, of Ardán Garden, ‘Art in the Garden’ and is followed by a three-course lunch. The Royal Irish Yacht Club is about 200m West of the Dun Laoghaire train station. The address is Harbour Road, Dun Laoghaire, Co Dublin, A96 RC84. The dress code is smart casual. Note that members are welcome to attend the lecture without coming to the lunch.

The Spring Local Show will be held in St Brigid's Parish Centre. Paddy Smith will be giving a workshop on growing gentians, there will be a plant sale, and of course tea, coffee, biscuits and chat.
