
Travels of a Scotsman – Connor Smith

Connor Smith is Head of the Rock Garden at Utrecht Botanic Garden.
His talk will be ‘Travels of a Scotsman – a summary of my travels to look at plants in different areas of the world, both in the wild and in cultivation, in countries such as Japan, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan and Chile’. Connor has worked in gardens and nurseries in Scotland, Oregon, Italy and Germany, including the Royal Botanic Gardens, Edinburgh, and the Schachen Alpine Garden near Munich. Utrecht Botanic Garden in the Netherlands is one of the largest in Europe with more than 3,000 different species.
